Hi, I’m david
Working with wood has been a lifetime passion for me. I first picked up the tools sometime in the eighties, around the age of 4 and began to knock up all kinds of childhood treasures from my father’s cherished wood hoard, much to his dismay. To be fair to me, I think I made much better use of it than he ever did. I was gifted my first ‘proper’ tool set around a year later. I never looked back.
Professionally, I’ve been in the timber industry in one form or another since 2010, initially starting out in woodland management, coppicing and greenwood craft. A passion I still nurture to this day. During much of my downtime, you’ll find me in a woodland somewhere, observing my surroundings, learning, and doing my utmost to understand nature’s rhythm, as best I can.
Having then cut my teeth in the commercial hardwood merchant world for a number of years where I developed my knowledge for timber selection, drying, sourcing and application, I yearned to once more get back to the dream of crafting.
I love to build wooden items with character, trying not to exactly replicate items more than once, wherever possible.
Today, I now operate out of a purpose built workshop near Petersfield and serve clients in Hampshire, Sussex & Surrey.
Every project I work on begins with a conversation. If you’re looking for something unique then please use the contact button below for a friendly informal chat.
